About
I am Dyan Trent, and I specialize in Senior Fitness and Fitness for those with Special Needs. I am committed to providing seniors (ages 55+) and those with special needs with fitness and wellness options that best benefit their bodies and their minds. Through experience, I know that exercising regularly can help boost energy, recover from illness more quickly, improve depression and anxiety, and, most importantly, maintain independence.

I haven't always felt that way. I was in marketing and creative services for over 30 years, worked in the corporate world, and owned my own design company for 20 years. I would not say I was "healthy" during this time (see top left photo). I was too focused on working and becoming financially secure, and the problem was that I forgot about taking care of myself. I worked excessive hours and sat on my butt while doing it. I put work before everything else, and boy, was that a mistake!

After tipping the scale at 270 pounds, with high blood pressure and barely being able to walk up the stairs – I started experiencing Post Traumatic Stress – out of the blue! And boy, I was not ready to relive my childhood – PTS almost took me out! It got so bad that I could only work part-time at best, and I had to start counseling. Thank God, I had taken out Disability Insurance when I started my business so many years ago, or I would not known what to do.
It went from bad to worse, as the psychiatrist I went to decided to misdiagnose me with Bipolar and put me on meds that took me entirely out of the game. I could not even add 2+2. It was horrific – pretty much losing everything I worked so hard for all these years. I am no more Bipolar than God himself! I was experiencing flashbacks from my past, things that were buried entirely, and for good reason. I needed help getting through that – not bipolar meds! Finally, I got up the strength to stop those meds cold turkey (I would not recommend this). And within two weeks, I had a renewed sense of clarity. Now, to start putting my life back together.

Interestingly, once I got my head back together, I did not desire to continue with marketing and creative work. I was done. No, I wanted something entirely different! It took me almost three years to get through the PTS. In 2021, I lost 100 pounds and started a new journey in wellness and fitness. I chose to become a Certified Wellness Coach. Why? I felt that if I could help one person through what I experienced without any medications, I would be happy. Once I got off those meds, I found someone to talk to who had experienced a similar childhood to mine and was able to get through it with her help! And I want to help others navigate through similar situations successfully.
Being in my late 50s, I wanted to work with seniors over 55 and those with special needs. I continued educating myself and became a Certified Personal Trainer and Advanced Senior Fitness Specialist. I then learned Adaptive Fitness for Clients with Special Needs and became certified in Silver Sneakers classes. And was ready to take on the world!
I started as a contractor for SourcePoint Senior Center in Delaware. I now teach 15 fitness classes a week and provide personal training. I absolutely love it! There is nothing better than helping another person be the best version of themselves!

I believe that Strong, Healthy, and Happy are the ultimate “Trifecta!” I am enthusiastic about fitness and wellness and will continue learning how to keep the mind and body healthy through movement.
A little more about me ... I love cooking, entertaining, golfing, dancing, and encouraging others to be their best – no matter their age! I can’t wait to get to know you and help you become excited about exercise and wellness! Fit, fierce, and fabulous – that’s Me!
